It's going to stay there overnight and the battery will most probbaly run out tomorrow.

Currently there are plenty of birds and some rodents running around. Hopefully they do not get too interested in the mics and the box.
It is placed in stump of a fallen tree so from time to time it's possible to heat tiny paws and claws of rodents running up the tree

this is an area with very high beech trees. In summer they create that cathedral effect when you walk in and see all the pillars and it gets immediately darker inside than before entering the forest

and I would say it's around 15km in a straight line from the Katowice airport. There are segments that are airplane-free but at other times they fly still pretty low over this area

it looks like it's a nice evening for paragliding. At least this is what it sounds like and I've seen people paragliding in this area. I imagine photos and movies are great from up there. Not sure I'd like to be right next to that engine though (even with ear protection)

thank you :) there is a lot of small birds there. flycatchers and robins. from time to time we might get a woodpecker as well. There are some houses at the edge of the forest and the dogs in there usually bark boomingly in the evenings. Unless those now are the dogs of some people still on walks as it's not late yet

I met roe-deer very often when getting back from a late/night recording session in there and there are some wild boars around as well. I met them couple times and you can spot some evidence of them looking for food

or to be precise, not exactly IN the reserve but in the surrounding forests. It consists of beech trees that are over 100 years old and create a very high "ceiling" and it gives us this cathedral feel

there is almost no wind so the highway hum carries to this spot. when it's a bit more windy the leaves cover that almost completely. not tonight, though

I love the little creatures moving around and creating all those crackling noises nearby in dry bark and leaves and perhaps feasting on the wood of this fallen beech.

that's a revelation I've had before, while listening for hours at favourite places... there is always someone, by chance, a hidden existence, some story connected to, who knows. But listening to them is like listening to the other creatures around.

apart from roads we can hear very faint trams in the background. And the nearest tram track is over 1km away
