the wind generator blades are a little quiet, i guess because the wind speed is only 4km/hr, but the constant hums and occasional internal twanging are present.

What was this sudden sound?

Kind of compressor starting?

it's a mechanism inside the tower of the windmill. not sure exactly what it is.

Indeed. During this day (and many others...) cars with sound-tuned exhausts were driving up and down (and me crazy...). Felt aggression...

Did you listen last night? to compare when birds stopped singing?

in machine land the joy ( if so) is only by the user..no joy for standing by

Last night was quite different in that it was windier and the wind generator quite active. But the birds stopped around the same time. There were no big fossil fuel machines though.

with so little wind we are hearing more distance than the night before
I'm about to ship a box to Maribor, Slovenia, where it will sit on an island within the river Drava, close to an old but working hydroelectric power station
the place of this continuously renewing sound stream is at the threshold of the common future of all listeners. Therein lies something open, unavailable. The recording that took place in the past is no longer in the time of the listeners, it is fallen back into a different time and space.
